Keto – Steak & Veg

My favourite meal so far over a couple of weeks of doing this has been steaks with roasted vegetables and some peppercorn sauce. It’s really simple, and pretty quick as these things go!

Cauliflower, broccoli and sweet potato (or whatever veg you want) roughly chopped and put in the oven at 180C for 25 minutes.

Make a simple peppercorn sauce: melt some butter, add some brandy, add beef stock and boil for a few minutes. Crush peppercorns and add into the pan. Turn temperate down so it’s simmering, and stir in some double cream. I’ve seen recipes including shallots in the sauce but I could take or leave that.

And then just rub some salt & pepper into the steaks and cook in a frying pan with a little oil.

Super easy, plenty of fat, protein and a few carbs in there too. What more could anyone want? The best thing about it for me, is I make this with my boyfriend who isn’t following a keto diet and he’s perfectly happy with it as it doesn’t feel like there’s anything missing.
